What is Treasure Classifieds?
TreasureClassifieds.com is the largest independent website to BUY, SELL & TRADE USED METAL DETECTORS AND ACCESSORIES.
Is there any charge to use your website, or are there any fees?
Our platform is 100% FREE to use, and there are NEVER any fees when buying, selling, or conducting any other type of transaction.
How many members does Treasure Classifieds have?
We currently have over 13,000 registered members, but keep in mind, only a very small minority of those will be buying and/or selling at any given time. However, our platform sees a significant amount of web traffic, so, whether you are buying, selling or trading, there will be plenty of activity on a daily basis.
How can I buy, sell or trade on your site?
Easy! Simply register as a new user, and you’re good to go! (click here)
I registered as a user, but cannot log-in to my account. Why?
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to verify your account. It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to arrive. If you do not see it, be sure to check your spam box. Simply click the link to verify your account, and you can then contact buyers/sellers, post equipment, etc.
If you did not receive the confirmation message in your primary email box or your spam, then it’s more than likely you accidentally entered the wrong/incorrect email address when registering. In this case, we recommend registering again.
Also, make sure you are using the correct user name when trying to log in.

Can I post new metal detectors, equipment or other accessories on Treasure Classifieds?
No. Our classifieds platform is ONLY for USED equipment/gear, and we are quite strict about this. Any equipment that is posted that we deem to be new will not be approved, or will be taken down from our site once we become aware of it. We are especially vigilant in regards to dealers or frequently active listers who post equipment which looks like it just came from the factory sealed box. Any attempts to skirt our rules, and users will not have their listings published, and may be violated from usage of our platform. The one exception to this rule, is the following…
On inexpensive items ($100 or less), we do allow them to be new. Things such as; books, DVD’s, digging tools, finds pouches, etc. are perfectly fine in new condition due to the lower prices. Anything outside of this MUST be genuinely used.
I submitted my listing, but it’s not showing up on the site. Why?
For the safety and security of our members, and to help combat spam or fraudulent listings, our team MANUALLY reviews each and every item that is submitted by users, before they are approved and posted. Depending on the availability of our staff, listings can take anywhere from a few minutes to be approved, up to a few hours. So please be patient.
Also, do keep in mind, every time you edit your listing/s, they will once again need to be approved, and the submission process starts anew. So, if you would like to avoid excessive wait times to see your listing/s show up, we encourage you to edit your listing/s as little as possible.
Another reason you may not see your listing shown is because there are (2) types of ads on our platform, FEATURED & GENERAL. ONLY listings submitted WITH photos will be shown on the featured banner on our homepage, once they are approved. For example, if you submit a detector for sale WITHOUT uploading at least one photo, that listing will be placed under the GENERAL ad page, in the appropriate category you chose when submitting your listing.
If you want your ad to be show on our homepage, where it has much more visibility, then please ensure you upload a photo when submitting your listing to us.
How do I include/attach a photo when creating my listing?
When creating your listing, you will see a CHOOSE FILE button under the photos area. Simply click that button, and then choose a photo from the files on your smart phone, tablet or computer. If you’d like to add more than one photo, a separate button will appear under the original one, and you simply follow the same steps above.
In rare cases, if your photo files are too large, you may receive a notification advising you of such. In this case, simply resize your photos to a more appropriate size, and then try attaching them once again.
*We do NOT allow photo links to outside websites, so please keep this in mind when uploading images.
Do I have to include a price when submitting a listing?
Yes. Listings MUST include a desired sales price, with the exception of items being traded. There is a PRICE field available when creating your listing, and if you do not include a sales price, your listing will not be approved. As we are not an auction site, members shouldn’t have to guess or submit bids for items. If an item is for sale, DO make sure to enter the desired price in the appropriate field when creating your listing.
My ad was approved and published, but I noticed a mistake, or would like to change something. How can I do that?
Very simple. Just make sure that your are logged in, and then go to your listing. From there, you will see the option to edit your ad any way you wish. Keep in mind, once you edit your listing, it will need to be approved again, which can vary depending upon our team members availability, so do be patient.
How can I be sure if a user/listing is genuine, and not fraudulent in any way?
As stated before, we try to distinguish legitimate users/listings to the best of our ability, which is why we manually review all listings before they are approved. Fortunately, we have never had even a single instance of someone being scammed on our site, in its 4+ years of operation. However, do know that TreasureClassifieds.com is not responsible for any claims made by its users, as well as the transactions that are conducted on our platform. BUYER BEWARE is the best advice we can give. It is STRONGLY advised that all members use common sense when buying, selling or trading, and to conduct the appropriate amount of research before entering into a transaction.
The sad reality is that many scam artists today are quite sophisticated, and while we will always do our best to protect the interests of our members and our platform, we obviously cannot guarantee the veracity of every single user or listing 100% of the time.

I have contacted a member about a listing numerous times, but have received no response. Why?
There can be several possible reasons for this, all explained, below…
- The member is busy, and does not have the time to return messages.
- The member saw your query, and for whatever reason, chose not to return your message.
- The item you are inquiring about may have been sold, and the member forgot to mark it as such.
- The member’s messages are being rerouted to his/her spam box, and may not be being seen.
As a general rule, please be patient when contacting a fellow member. If you have not heard back, remember the possible reasons above, and try contacting them once or twice more. If you feel that something is wrong, or you would like us to try contacting the member on your behalf, please reach us using the contact form on the bottom of this page.
What do I do once my item has sold?
We HIGHLY advise you to edit your listing, and use the drop down box to mark the item as SOLD. This will prevent future users from contacting you, and flooding your inbox with messages that are not necessary. Outside of this, there is nothing further for you to do, aside from completing the transaction in a timely manner.
Does your site have a feedback/rating system?
Yes, TreasureClassifieds.com has its own member rating system, which uses a 5 star scale. It is HIGHLY recommended that members use the system, and give feedback to fellow members after completing any buy, sell or trade transaction. However, we cannot force members to provide feedback, it is their choice as to whether or not they wish to utilize the rating system.
I am seeing so many SOLD listings still shown, why aren’t they removed?
That is a very good question, and there are several reasons we do not remove SOLD listings, all explained, below…
- Sometimes an item is accidentally marked as sold, when in actuality it is not.
- Sometimes an item is marked as sold, and the transaction is never finalized, so the item is still available.
- Sometimes there are several items in an ad, and only one or two of them has sold, the others may still be available.
- Our platform has many power users, who list numerous items quite frequently. Even if an item has sold, there may be other items the seller has available, which can be determined simply from contacting them.
As you can see, there are many reasons why, as a general rule, we feel it is optimal to leave SOLD items published. In short, it is actually meant to benefit our many members, not inconvenience them.
Am I allowed to post links in my ad?
We do not allow links to be posted in our ads. There are many reasons for this, but the biggest one is: we cannot confirm the veracity/safety of all outside links posted, so it is for the security of our members that they not be published, or that they are do not follow in nature.
I am a dealer, am I allowed to post items on your site?
Yes. TreasureClassifieds.com not only allows, but also encourages dealers to post their surplus stock with us. Provided the items being listed are genuinely USED, and not new, we welcome your listings. However, any attempts to skirt our system to undercut MAP pricing or to pass new equipment off as used, will NOT be permitted.
I created an account and can use the classifieds platform, but I cannot log into your forum. Why?
While our classifieds platform and forum are both under our umbrella, they are two separate systems, each utilizing a different software system. Therefore, if you would also like to join/use our forum, you must register again on that site, as it operates independently of the classifieds. You must register separately to use each entity.
Are there any tips you can recommend to get the best experience out of this site?
Our site itself is very easy to use. The one thing we stress is to utilize common sense when conducting any type of transaction online. Before completing a deal, do not be afraid to ask a buyer or seller for a phone number, where you can contact them to speak in person. This is HIGHLY recommended, and any legitimate buyer, seller or trader should not be adverse to providing one. Anyone that is, should be highly suspect. Alternatively, when listing an item for sale or trade, including a phone number in your ad is comforting to fellow members, as they have a way of reaching someone, and can follow up to confirm the legitimacy of the ad. Providing as much contact information as possible usually leads to added response, and overall, a better, more streamlined transaction process.
*Providing a phone number in your ad comes with its own risks, but they are very small, and will usually lead to a listing getting more responses. But this option is up to you, and is not required at all.
Who operates this site?
TreasureClassifieds.com was started by, and is run by real detectorists, just like yourself. So, we understand the hassles involved when trying to buy, sell or trade using conventional means like forums, craigslist, ebay, etc., which is why we created this site. We wanted to create a CONVENIENT, SAFE & FREE TO USE platform that is FOR metal detectorists, BY metal detectorists.
